I'm smart and happy
I am named "Chance" because I was pretty much on my last chance at the shelter. The day that I was scheduled for you-know-what I was spirited away by an angel to Sacramento, CA to live with a family. My foster mom worked hard to get me outa that place and into her home. I was terribly dirty and matted, and once my foster mom cleaned me up and snipped off those mats I felt so wonderful. I am an exuberant boy who loves everybody in this family, especially the kids. I love being petted all over! I don’t mind at all if the kids dress me up and put stuff on me. I am, after all, a dog and aim to please. My temporary family also has an older doggy there, and I get along with him, too. I am still learning my manners, like leaving the kids' toys alone (stuffed animals are really tempting, as are shoes), and I'm not supposed to be interested in the cat but my temporary parents are keeping me in line. I know I can learn, because I want to be with my people. My foster mom says I’m smart, and I agree! Plus, I’m just a goofy boy who loves everybody! My foster mom took me to the dog park and I was overjoyed to play and run with the other dogs. I know who I belong to because I ran back to my mom when she called me. I really like this good citizen stuff! I'm a happy boy who just wants to be happy loving you. My foster mom says I might be a mix with a lab because I’m kinda goofy….what’s a lab? I’m justa happy dog who wantsa a happy home. Update: 3/2/2011 per Chance's foster mom. Chance is a happy dog who gets along well with all members of the family except the cats. He wants to chase them. He loves running off leash with other dogs and is quite sociable with other people. He is showing signs of protectiveness against other dogs when he is receiving attention and this must be discouraged by his new owner. He should go to an eskie-experienced owner who can recognize and manage any protection behavior. He gets along well with our children and adults, both visitors and family. He is a wonderful dog and would give you all his love and joy. Update 4-5-2011: My foster mom still can’t get over how smart I am! I wait patiently before jumping out of the car. I am very fond of the kids, taking car rides, and looking out for my adopted grandpa dog, especially at the dog park. I like looking out for him and supervising his activities so mom doesn’t have to worry. I love riding in the car, going on walks, and playing with children. My absolute favorite thing, however, is playing with my toys. I like to herd my toys into the backyard into a neat pile on a big rock. In the house, I have to bury my toys in clothes or blankets so nobody will find them. They say I am like a puppy that way, but I don’t care! A guy’s got to have his outlet! Good thing I’m good natured because I’m so full of the love of life that you could take anything from me and I would still love you! I’m probably best off with an outdoorsy owner, and of course I love kids. But please only if you want total and complete kisses and know how to rub my belly. I will keep you entertained and give you all the love a dog could possibly give!
