Fuzby of FL is a very sweet, wonderfully people-oriented boy. He is friendly with everyone he meets, is housetrained, loves to be petted, comes when called, thinks car rides are great, and only gets on the furniture when invited. He snuggles with his foster mom to watch TV, but is also happy to get out and run in the yard. Fuzby gets along well with his foster mom’s three dogs, which range in size from a 10 lb Pomeranian to a 75 lb Akita mix. He also does fine with his foster mom’s two cats. He has not been checked with children yet.
The vet estimated Fuzby’s age at about 8 years. Fuzby currently weighs 22 lbs, but is underweight. His optimal weight is probably around 25 lbs.
Fuzby came into rescue from a high-kill shelter, where he was on death row. He had been picked up as a stray by county animal control. Their facility was so overcrowded that they were sending all strays straight to euthanasia as soon as the 72-hour hold period was over. A volunteer there saw something special in Fuzby and held him an extra day while she worked to find a rescue to take him (she got in trouble for it, too). Luckily she found ERU, and a few hours later Fuzby was on his way to safety.
How Fuzby ended up stray and unclaimed will forever remain a mystery. He is a loving, playful boy with charming manners and an affectionate nature. The only “bad” things his foster mom has found about him are ones we can fix: not neutered, two ears badly infected, teeth in horrible shape, skinny & starving. Fuzby is scheduled for vetting to fix the medical problems, and is getting fed with good nutritious food. After vetting Fuzby will be ready for his forever home. Someone is going to be a very lucky adopter!
