Phoebe of CA needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Phoebe was found as a stray in Orange County California. Her shelter picture showed a little eskie girl in terrible condition, hardly any hair, and scared to death. She really didn't have any chance of getting adopted there. When we picked her up at the shelter she was laying in a pen with a concrete floor, and chainlink fencing. She was huddled in a little sheet metal enclosure. The shelter worker looped a slip lead around her neck and pulled her out. She was frightened, but eager to leave the facility. While walking to the car we noticed she was crawling with fleas. We went immediately to a local self serve dog wash and gave her a flea bath and a bath with a skin soothing tar shampoo, then clipped her very over grown nails. Upon getting her home, it was clear that she had lived in a house at some point, she has very good house manners and is house broken (not a single accident). At the veterinarian, her skin condition was diagnosed as flea bite dermatitis. Her blood work all came out fine. She is a very sweet little dog that needs to be shown how to love life again. She will be a velcro dog to whomever is lucky enough to adopt her. She is very quiet, still getting used to the idea that she is being in a loving home environment again. She is doing really well in her current foster home, her fur is growing back very quickly. She is going to be a stunning eskie once she has her full coat back. This little girl is a diamond in the rough!
