Missy's owner went into a nursing home 3 years ago and she was taken in by the owner's caretaker, who can no longer keep her. She is very vivacious and no one can believe she's over 10 years old. Her recent vet check-up showed no problems with any medical issues, which is no surprise because this breed easily lives to 15 and are often more active and healthy into later life than many other breeds. She has lived with toddlers and cats and is great with dogs. Missy bonds easiliy and is looking for a home with a walk a day and lots of petting. Also, this breed is considered "self cleaning" due to an oil in their fur that helps repel dirt. Although they need brushing to avoid matts, they do not require bathing very often. They also do not smell "doggish". She would make an excellent dog for a senior citizen looking for an easy-care (no training needed) companion.
