He loves his toys and rawhide chews. He was brought in to the Humane Society in Findlay, Ohio by some people who claimed he was a stray.

UPDATE:_______________
After one weekend with foster: Toby is a great dog! After just one weekend with me and his new foster sisters, he has really warmed up to us. He is create trained (enters his crate on his own and no accidents), loves to play with the squeak toys, gets along great with the doggie-girls, and is our resident ears, eyes, and the rest of the face washer! He just loves to groom his new sisters! Toby loves to sit close to me at night on the couch...a lap dog! He is pretty good on a leash but tends to pull at times and he rides good in the car. He does like to bark at people he sees walking or getting close to the car, as most Eskies will. If you let him approach new people, he does fine but if they come at him, he tends to get defensive with growling and barking. We are working on socializing him more. I would suggest no small kids but my 11 yr old neice was okay since she let him come to her on HIS terms. Overall, Toby will make someone a great pet!! He adapted very quickly to his foster home and will probably to yours. He will show you love and devotion if he gets it in return.

UPDATE 2/26/08.......
Toby has really come to life! I can't believe the change he has made in such a short time. He is very affectionate and loves to be a lap dog! Of course with all the snow we've gotten he acts like a fool playing with his foster sisters -for hours if I let him. He enjoys being brushed and loves to beg for treats! Toby is also totally housetrained and crate trained- never any accidents! This furry guy with a lively personality will be sure to bring alot of joy into his new owners day and if you have another dog who needs a playmate Toby is your boy!

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
