Hi.  My name is Maizy.  I am a pretty girl with long white soft hair.  I don't want to sound conceited but I'm so pretty and furry that you'll just love to pet me.  In return I'll be your best friend and love you more than you can imagine.

I was picked up as a stray and taken to an awful place where I had to sleep on a cold cement floor for many days before I was rescued and taken to a nice home with someone called a foster Mom.  She tells me that I can stay here until my new furever family finds me.  I haven't had an easy life but I'm doing good now.

I am a good girl and am mostly calm and quiet.  I'm friendly and like meeting new people.  My favorite pastime is to just chill and hang out with my new buddy,my foster Mom.   Along with my foster Mom, I also hang out with three other dogs and two cats and fit in fine.  I am a mature lady and I like to chew/play with toys on my own but I'm not fond of playing with other dogs.  I would be a good fit for a quiet family as an only dog or as a companion to another mature mellow dog.  I get along great with cats.  I love to touch noses with them and wag my tail to show how much I like them.  I'll even let the cats take naps in my crate if I'm not using it.

I love to go for walks and am good on a leash.  I'm curious and like to look around at everything that goes on around me.  I'm smart and know how to sit for a treat.  It would be great if you could teach me how to do some other things too.  I am crate trained and love to store my bones and toys in there because I know it's my special place.  I have a nice cushion in there and love to take naps, play with my toys, or chew on my bones all throughout the day.  One of my favorite positions is to lay on my back with all my legs sticking straight up in the air - I look very silly and I'll make you laugh.

I would be so grateful to find someone out there to love me and take me home with them furever.   Please let me know if you think you are that someone.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
