********* located in Carlisle, PA *****
**UPDATE** 6/2/08 Mom is one of the better dogs I have ever fostered. She was housebroken in only 2 days and she had never lived in a house before. She is very loving, and sleeps in bed with me every night. She will either sleep on the pillow beside me or at the foot of the bed. She will go wherever I tell her to go.

She also was a fantastic mom to all these dogs that were pulled from the barn. She has been spayed so she will no longer be having puppies. However, that has not changed her mothering instinct. As you can see she found a toy in the toy box that is about the same size as a puppy and she will carry that around with her. She is a fantastic girl with a fantastic future ahead of her.

To be honest I dont mind if nobody wants to adopt her. She can stay here forever. She is a great girl.

**update** 5/10/08 Mom is housebroken now. It only took her two days to figure out she needed to potty outside. What a great smart girl she is.

This is Mom, she is very protective of her babies. Once she knows you she is very friendly. She is the mom to all of these 12 other dogs. She is a sweetheart. She is soooo loving and sweet once she knows you. It only took her two days to trust me to hold her pups. I do not know if she is housebroken or not, but she is friendly. She deserves a great home after having all those puppies for years. Wont you give this girl a chance?

ERU received a call about 13 eskies living in a barn that needed to be moved by May 1st, because the barn was sold. I went an evaluated the dogs. All are in excellent shape physically. However they have never been socialized, they are terrified of people. They are not aggressive at all even when cornered and captured. However, we are full and have no where to put these dogs.
These dogs are available for adoption however they are not socialized yet. They are afraid of people but are NOT aggressive at all. Once you catch them and hold them for a bit they do calm down.

They do need to be seen by a vet and spayed/neutered however when that is done they will be ready to be adopted if there are families that are willing to work with them. If you are a family that is willing to work on the socialization of these dogs. You will be getting a great dog. If you are not sure this is something you are up to but are willing to give it a try, you could always sign up to foster.

The dogs that came from there range in ages from 9 months old to the oldest dog is their mom who will be 5 in September. There are 4 that are 9 months old, 4 that are almost 2 years old. 2 that are almost 4 years old.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
