Hi everyone!  I'm Makea (rhymes with IKEA) which is Finnish for sweet.  And I am the sweetest boy in the world.  I love doggies and people alike.  I was  surrendered by my owner to a shelter in KY.  I stayed there for five weeks until ERU heard about me and sprung me from the shelter.  A nice man flew me from KY all the way to MD in his Cessna 172 and I was a good co-pilot.  I've was just neutered and had my teeth cleaned.  I am housetrained and an all around great dog.  If you are interested in meeting me please e-mail my foster mommy Bridget (brimc09@gmail.com). 

 

Update 11/28/12- One could not ask for a better companion than Makea.  He is a very affectionate boy whose favorite thing is to roll over on his back and let you pet him.  He is very laid back in the house except for the occassional game of tug of war he will play with his toys, but finds energy when he gets outside.  He is an excellent running partner.  Maky is a bit timid when first introducing himself to people and gets off to a slow start with other dogs, but after a minute or two, he's on his back looking for a belly rub from his newly introduced friends.  People cannot seem to help themselves but to come up and pet him with his soft coat and adorable look.  Makea is housetrained and finding him a quick learn on commands.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
