Ruffy is a very sweet, small eskie.  Hes young and loves to play and wrestle with his bigger doggie "brother".  Hes earned the nickname "Ruffy, Tuffy".  He'd do great in a home with another dog.  He also gets along with his kitty "sister".  Ruffy takes a little bit to warm up to strangers, but once he does, you can find him sitting in your lap wanting a good old fashioned belly rub.  He is good in the house and crate trained.  Hes eager to please and currently in an obedience class, where he is excelling.  

Ruffy would do best in an active home.  He loves to go out for walks and jogs and destuff dog toys.  Hes very good at playing fetch and as long as you are willing to throw a ball, hes willing to get it and bring it back to you.  Hes a good boy, but needs an experienced eskie owner. Ruffy believes life is about fun and playing and at his age, who can blame him?  :-)

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
