****Being fostered in OXNARD, CA ******
Hi, my name is Oscar. My family split up and I had to live with my mom in a small apartment. I was going crazy in that tiny little place and miss my backyard and other family members. My mom wants what is best for me and hoping this rescue can find a home with a busy family. I feel like I'm on one of those online dating sites, as I am suppose to share with you all my important info. So, here goes nothing, ahem . . .
Sit, down, stay, shake, high-five, roll over, spin, over, through. I am clicker trained and have a high desire to please.
I'm a neutered male, turning 4 yrs old next month. I am only 18 lbs and considered a miniature eskie. I'm a bit shy of new people and animals I meet. But if you go slow with me for the first few minutes, I warm up and quite friendly. I am good with other friendly dogs and will gladly chase a scaredy cat. If the cat doesn't run, then it's no fun to chase and not worth my time/effort. I like kids who are low key and older. The younger ones move so unpredictably and are so noisy and clumbsy and that makes me nervous (can you blame me?). I like expensive food and sunset walks along the beach (or sidewalk). I am a high energy guy and very athletic. I am told I have a high IQ and very easy to train. In fact here's what I know already: More about Oscar of CAGood with Dogs, Good with Kids Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. Other Pictures of Oscar of CA (click to see larger version):
