Hi, my name is Jesse and I LOVE being with people and other dogs! I was giving Eskie kisses the same day my foster parents sprung me from the shelter. I’m not a big kisser, but I do like to sneak some in here and there. Foster mom says I have a super sweet personality.

I came from the shelter with pesky mites, but I’m cured now. Because of the damage to my hair and skin from the mites, I’m still working on growing back my fluffy white fur. Good nutrition and TLC will go a long way in me being a fluffy young boy.

Foster mom says I’m the easiest dog to bathe that she’s ever met!

I’m between 1-3 years young and while I love a good cuddle and snooze, I still have puppy energy to PLAY, like most Eskies. I can’t decide if I’m a puppy or a couch potato. Right now I enjoy the best of both worlds. I also am very good riding in cars. I walk politely on a leash, but I am still afraid of stairs. I can do the 5 stairs there are to go outside, but a whole flight of stairs…maybe you could teach me?

If I do say so myself, I’m very loving and can melt you with my puppy dog eyes. My eyes show all my heartaches as well as the love I have to offer. I’ll give it all to you. My foster mom just refers to me as a love bug. If you are looking for a guy that loves to be a lap dog, then I’m your man!

I enjoy my crate and visit it often and feel safe sleeping there when foster mom is busy. I am still working on housebreaking, but as long as I’m in my crate or get to go out often when you are home, I am fine.

Foster mom thinks I would do just dandy in a house with older children who know how to be gentle…we could play! We went to the pet store and I was fine around all the little kids. She also took me to watch a parade and I was fine around all the people and noises of a parade.

I originally came from a neglectful place and then a shelter by the NE coast of NC, but now spend my time enjoying life with my foster family right outside Raleigh NC. I currently share a home with 2 adults, 3 dogs and 5 chickens! I’m not skittish or overzealous; I’m the perfect combo in-between. I have no desire to be an Alfa dog but also know how to ask for what I want.

While I can make myself happy anywhere with someone who will always me, if I could have one wish it would be to find a home with at least one other playful dog or child. I love to gently wrestle with my foster brother so much! I’m a half glass is full kind of positive fellow and look forward to my forever home.

So that’s a little about me…I would love to get to know you! I look forward to finding the home that’s right for all of us and you can have all of my love and snuggles. I am a big snuggler! Let me show you!

Note from Foster Mom:  If you are looking for an American Eskimo with a sweet disposition, then Jesse is your guy. He always is in a good mood and gentle. He understands “no”, but doesn’t hear it often because he’s such a good little guy. He loves his toys of any kind and will take them apart, but will not disturb anything that’s not been given to him. His worst fault is not doing the stairs and I don’t really see that as a fault, he just needs the confidence to climb a whole flight. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt him will be lucky. The shelter staff that gave him to us was happy, but sad to him to see him go and our current Vet staff loves him. He’s an all over good little guy.

More about Jesse of NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
