Hi, my name is Powder and I think I’m about 3 1/2 years old and purebred Eskie. I don’t remember much until one day when I found myself wet and hungry, in the woods with sores and scratches all over my body. Then some “feral” cats told me about a people house that has a little shelter house for animals and food next to a people door. So I found my way there. I was eating the cat’s food when my foster Dad found me. He said I was covered in fleas and ticks and was very skinny and had lost allot of my hair. I just remember I didn’t feel good. He put me in a warm bath and got all those things off me, then brought me inside a house. Suddenly, there were other dogs and cats all around me lying on padded cushions and eating all they wanted. I was given cool water and food and had my ears and tummy rubbed until I fell asleep. They say I slept for almost a week and only got up to eat and go outside with my foster brothers and sisters. I’m still a little nervous about what I eat because my teeth had been worn almost down to my gums. I've learned there’s plenty to go around so now I know how to share. My hair is growing back and is thick white silk soft. My back legs use to be a little wobbly sometimes when I walked on the tile or wood floors but now I’ve gotten so strong and developed muscle so I'm doing great. I never jump up on people and only bark when the feral cats look in the windows at me. I loved to be brushed and combed, and I don't even mind when they give me a "pet-a-cure" - get it? I love my other fur buddies here but, I would really love to have a furever home. I have a lot of Love to go around and I'm really a very good girl! The lady at my Vet's office says I'm the most gentle and sweetest girl she's ever seen. P. S. My Foster Mom keeps calling me a “love bug”. That's weird cause, I always thought I was a Dog! And if you think that's odd, my foster Dad says I have feathers... on my legs and ears ? I know I'm not a bird !
