Hi, my name is Delilah, and I'm a pretty happy girl, as you can see from my pictures. They say I am a pure bred miniature American Eskimo - I weigh only 13 pounds - but I so prefer being called dainty or petite. In addition to being small and beautiful, I am about 6 years old, house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines and preventative medications. My parents tell me I am a wonderful girl and they love me so very much. I am quite social and want to be everyone's constant companion. I like to to be where my family is hanging out, especially when they are in my favorite room in the house......the kitchen! (I'm especially good at floor cleanup duty :) But sometimes I can be a little possessive....okay, maybe even a little jealous. When my mommy and daddy are sitting next to each other on the sofa, I sometimes try to jump in between them, and demand their attention and affections. After all, I am their little Princess Diva! I am lovable and affectionate, and I just ADORE attention! I also love treats, and cuddles, and belly rubs, car rides, and all my toys (and sometimes the baby's toys too, hehe), and I especially love to toss and shake and try to kill those toys with the squeakers in them. And did I mention I REALLY love attention? I know, I sound too good to be true......but I'm told I do have a few issues (they are forcing me admit these, because everyone knows a Princess Diva has no flaws). I probably shouldn't act like this, but I can't help it - I love my home and my family, and I want to protect it and them. So I am very territorial, especially when the doorbell rings or strangers come into my house, and I bark (and bark)......and well, sometimes I get a little too anxious and excited, and I nip at the intruder's ankles. I get a time out and a serious talking to after I do this. Mommy and Daddy are so afraid that when I go into my protective mode, I might one day accidentally nip my baby brother's face instead of the ankle of an adult, and then I would be taken away somewhere not very nice. They are so very sad, but they want me in a safe environment where I won't accidentally hurt anyone, and they know their house is no longer that. I love other dogs, kids and adults, but I need to be in a quieter home with just adults, or adults with older children. Small children make me nervous. It's probably also best that I be in a home with people who are Eskie savvy, and who will understand and love all my breed's (and my) quirky traits. I've also been told by my doctor that I have mild epilepsy. I've had it for several years and I have an average of one seizure a month that lasts between 5-15 minutes. Afterwards, I am perfectly fine. My doctor calls them idiopathic......that means "of unknown cause". I am not on any medication since the frequency and severity of my seizures are considered too mild. Mommy and Daddy think that both my anxiety and seizures are both stress-related (hey....it's VERY stressful being a perfect Princess Diva!). I love my home and my family, but I have to admit, a home with three small children is neither quiet nor stress-free. They believe that in a quieter home, maybe one with a big fenced in back yard where I can run and play, or in a home where I can get lots of regular walks and exercise, will alleviate most of my issues and help make me a more relaxed girl. I sure hope you'd like to meet me, and if you're looking for a loving and cuddly lap dog, that would be me......Delilah, The Princess Diva!
