Hi, meet Charlie. Charlie found himself in a high-kill county shelter when his owner died. The family came to the house and found the deceased owner, with Charlie next to him, watching over him. When they tried to remove Charlie from his owner and home, he growled - so the family decided he was aggressive and surrendered him to the shelter. A senior owner surrender in a high kill shelter doesn't stand much of a chance, and a few days later Charlie's name was put on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, at the eleventh hour, he was rescued and he is currently safe in a foster home.
The foster family says that Charlie is delightful. He is calm, loves attention, is well socialized and is low energy. He is well mannered and well behaved and gets along well with other dogs. Charlie is 11 years old, 18 pounds, neutered, up-to-date on all of his vaccines, heart worm negative and microchipped. He would make a perfect companion for a senior couple or individual. Charlie is currently located in Sarasota, Florida.
