About Cooper!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-057
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Cooper! I'm a miniature American Eskimo male who stands 16 inches tall and weighs 20 pounds. I'm approximately 6 years old. I was an outside dog all my life, living in a shed, and was very lonely, so now I love being around humans and other dogs. I'm a very handsome boy, as you can tell by my pictures.

I'm recently neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm mostly house trained, but sometimes I like to sneak off and mark a spot that I can call my own. But I'm learning that my foster parents don't like that, so I will need someone who is patient with me and will continue positive reinforcement of my good behavior. I'm a very submissive boy who doesn't like to be scolded. I am crate-trained and walk very nicely on a leash. I just had my teeth cleaned, and I will happily flash you my wonderful Eskie smile! :o)

I love to play with other dogs. We're not sure how I would be around cats, but I'm so sweet I think I would like them. I like older kids (teens or older), though I may bark at them at first. But if they are gentle with me and pet me and play with my toys with me, then I will get along just great with them! I am super cuddly and love to be bathed, brushed and petted. I have extremely soft fur on my little head, the softest you ever felt! My fur is very fluffy and easy to brush.

I love playing with all the new toys Santa and his elves gave me, and chewies are so much fun. I am learning inside manners and haven't chewed anything but my doggie toys. I am working on my commands, like sit, stay and come when I'm called. My foster mommy and daddy think I am so smart! I would love a fenced-in yard to run around in and act goofy. Sometimes I am so silly with my toys that everyone just laughs at me, and I love to roll around on the soft carpet (it feels so much nicer than that hard concrete I was used to).

If you're looking for a fun, playful and energetic companion, I'm just the guy for you! :o) I would also be great for a single woman who wants "protection," because I'm a bit of a barker and will definitely warn you of any "intruders." My foster mommy and daddy say I would be such a good cuddle companion for someone special--will that be you?

If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with my foster mommy and daddy, Kim and Jeff. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away!

For more information on me, please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy and daddy directly at: kim@eskierescuersunited.org!

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Thank you and WOOF!

Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
