Hello, my name is Dayna! I'm a 1-year old female standard-sized American Eskimo mix (probably Eskie and golden retriever) who weighs about 33 pounds. I'm spayed, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm totally housebroken, and kennel trained as well. I'm an incredibly sweet and lovable little girl who will really tug at your heartstrings! I ride well in the car and love to go for walks. I don't even need a leash, because I'll stay right at your side the whole time! But when I AM on a leash, I walk calmly and without pulling. I will come to you every single time you call me, because I want to please you and be right there with you always! One thing I don't like AT ALL, however, is being tied up, because it reminds me of my old life, when I wasn't treated very nicely. I get along with people, kids and other doggies, though my foster mommy thinks I'd do best in a home with at most one other dog, so I can give you ALL my love and affection and get yours back, without having to compete for it. (I'm very smart that way!) We aren't sure how I'd do with cats, but my foster mommy doesn't think it would be a problem because of my easy-going personality! She also thinks I'd be ideal for an older person who is loving and gentle and patient with me. I might even make a great therapy dog! :o) I'm calmer than the typical Eskie, not hyper at all, and even rather shy! My foster mommy is working on building my self-confidence. She thinks I'll do well in a home where I'll get lots and LOTS of attention, which I just love! My favorite thing in life is to lie on the couch right next to you, just to be with someone who will pet and stroke me. If you do that, I'll be yours forever! I'm as gentle a dog as you'll ever meet and will give you my whole heart! I just need a boost to my self-esteem from someone who will make me feel loved and accepted, someone who will earn my unswerving trust. I guarantee that if you adopt me into your home I will absolutely melt your heart! Wouldn't you like to have me in your life and give me a chance at a wonderful life? If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Tennessee with my foster mommy, Jane. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuers.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Dayna!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
