Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Kayla! I am an adorable standard-sized American Eskimo girl who is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 38 pounds. I stand about 22" high. Just look at these pictures of me and see if you can possibly resist my beautiful Eskie smile! I am spayed, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I am also house-trained. I'm a very active and playful girl who would LOVE to romp in the yard with you, as well as keep you company in the house! Unfortunately I don't get along that well with other dogs, so I would do best in a home where I'm the only dog. That way I can get ALL your attention! (I'm no dummy!) My foster mommy isn't sure how I'd be around kids, but she doesn't think that would be a problem, because I'm so sweet natured! I'm friendly with both men and women, and I also do well with around strangers. (But don't worry, I'll protect you if necessary. After all, that's a trait for which my breed is very well known-our loyalty and our devotion to our family.) If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Columbus, Mississippi with my foster mommy, Debbie. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuers.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Kayla!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
