About Wrigley!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 04-241
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hello, my name is Wrigley! I'm a 14-month old small standard-sized American Eskimo boy, approximately 15 inches tall and weighing 25 pounds (I could probably stand to lose a little weight). Don't you think I'm just an adorable little guy? I'm neutered, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken and kennel trained. And I'm extremely fond of my dog cookies and my chewies!

I'm VERY active, playful and energetic. I love playing with all my toys-in fact, the more the better! (I can pull out every toy from the doggy toy box just as well as any human child can! HeHe!) I'm great with dogs and cats, and I REALLY love my Eskie foster sister-she's just so much fun to play with! We'll go into the backyard and run and play and roughhouse-I enjoy that SO much! :o) I'd probably be better off in a home without small kids, however, because I'm such a rough and tumble kind of guy when I play that I don't always realize how rambunctious I am sometimes. (You know how we young boy dogs can be!) I don't try to hurt anyone, that's just how I play, but I WILL stop when you tell me to. I'd do great with older kids who know how to roughhouse along with me!

I'm a really lovable sweetheart, but my youthful exuberance needs to be tempered by some obedience training. I listen VERY well, though, and I know several commands, like "sit," "stay," "down," "shake" and "give me kisses" (which I LOVE to give to everyone I meet!). I really enjoy learning new tricks, and I can learn them VERY quickly! I need a family who is experienced with the Eskie breed and can be firm with me when necessary, but will also understand that I need my exercise and playtime. Because I am such a playful and active boy, it would be great if my new home had a fenced-in yard so I could run around and get my exercise. And an Eskie companion/playmate in the house would be just terrific!

I'm your typical 1-year old puppy who enjoys lots of attention and playtime, but I'm truly an AWESOME boy who would love to have you as my new best friend!!! Wouldn't you love to have me in your life as well? I can't wait to be in my new forever home with you! If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Simpsonville, South Carolina with my foster mommy, Leah. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away!

Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuers.org for more information on me!

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Thank you and WOOF!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
