About Fynn

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 06-069
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Fynn! I'm a 10-year old small standard-sized American Eskimo male who stands 16 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds. I was greatly loved and well taken care of by my previous owner, but after he died I was surrendered to the shelter, so I now find myself looking for a new home and a brand new life.

I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken and leash-trained, and I LOVE to go for rides in the car! I just had a doggie dental, so now I can flash you my bright pearly whites when I give you that smile we Eskies are so famous for. :o)

I get along with EVERYbody--other dogs, cats, human adults and children, strangers, you name it! I'm a very well-behaved guy, and I have no aggression issues except for this one thing--and really, it's more a possessive thing than aggressive. You see, I just don't like to share my food or treats with anyone else, so I will defend my food bowl if anyone comes near me while I'm eating. But that's easy enough to manage if you already have other pets--just feed me separately from the others and I will be just fine!

I don't look--or feel--my age, because I can still act like a playful pup when I want to. But I can also be calm and very affectionate, a real snuggler, in fact! My foster mommy says I have an absolutely beautiful white coat and that I would dazzle all your friends and neighbors when you take me for a walk.

She also says I was obviously someone's well-loved companion, and I would love to have the opportunity to become yours. Won't you consider adopting me into your home and giving me another chance at finding the love and happiness I was once fortunate enough to enjoy?

I would make a great friend and companion for anyone, including an older person or couple. I am eligible to be adopted for a lower fee through Eskie Rescuers United's "New Leash on Life" Senior program. (To find out more about this program, please go to: Senior Eskies and Senior Humans.)

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org, or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: peggy@eskierescuersunited.org. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Chambersburg, PA with my foster mommy, Peggy.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!
