About Jay Jay!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 04-087
Hi, my name is Jay Jay! (It used to be Fido, but I told my foster mommy I didn't like that name, so she changed it!) I'm a 1-1/2 year old (birthday 1/26/03) miniature American Eskimo boy who stands 14 to 15 inches tall and weighs about 18 pounds. As you can see, I am VERY handsome and have that great Eskie smile!

I'm recently neutered, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I am also microchipped. I'm crate-trained and mostly housebroken. My foster mommy is working very diligently with me to teach me good indoor manners, since my previous family didn't train me the way I should have been when I was a puppy. She says I'm doing very well, especially considering that I was just neutered!

I like riding in the car and so far I'm not much of a talker. I'm good with children older than 10, am great with cats and other dogs and I just LOVE to play! My foster sister is a 13-yr old Sheltie and we play together very well, but sometimes I wear her out because I'm so full of all that puppy energy! I would do best in an active home that has older children and a fenced-in yard, so I can get plenty of exercise, running or playing with my ball or my squeaky toys. My foster mommy thinks I'd be a good candidate for agility training. I'm very smart too. I know the commands "sit," "down" and "shake hands." Like many other Eskies, I'm very protective of my foster mommy, and I follow her all around the house. (It's only because I'm so friendly and want lots of love and attention!) My foster mommy is working with me so I'll learn to "share" her with the rest of the family. :o)

I'm a super sweet little guy who's looking for my new forever family-will that be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Colchester, CT with my foster mommy, Hayley. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away!

Please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuers.org for more information on me!

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Thank you and WOOF!

More about Jay Jay!

Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
