Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is SaraBeth! I'm a miniature-sized American Eskimo girl, only 4-1/2 months old and weighing 15 pounds. I may have a 'dash' of something extra special in my bloodline, but I'm mostly Eskie and my personality is definitely all Eskie--and I have lots of personality! I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm not fully housebroken yet, but my foster mommy is working with me on that and she says I'm learning really fast! I get through the night without any mishaps and will stay in my foster mom's bed until she gets showered and dressed for work. Then she takes me out to go potty. Pretty good of me, huh? :o) My foster mommy thinks I am so cute and playful. I like to give her kisses all the time and she gives me kisses back. I get along well with other dogs, but we're not sure about cats, since I haven't been around any of those critters. I'm what's known as a "Velcro" Eskie--I like to follow you around the house wherever you go. We Eskies are companion dogs and like to be involved in all family activities. I also love to play with toys and rawhide chewies. Oh boy, I really like the snow, which we recently got lots of--WHOOPPEEEE! I act crazy when I'm out in it. My step-brother Jetson plays with me in the snow, and I jump with him and over him. (I think he thinks I'm crazy! TeeHee!) I'm such a very sweet girl, and I can't wait to find a home to call my very own. Won't you adopt me into your family and give me a chance at a wonderful life? If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Wanda at: Wanda@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: julieandsnowy@aol.com. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Owings, MD with my foster mommy, Julie. To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! and#9829;SaraBethand#9829;
