Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hello, my name is Sam I Am! I am a 10-year old standard-sized American Eskimo who weighs about 35 pounds. I am a real gentleman who loves to go for nice long strolls with you and be at your side always!
I like being "top dog" in my house! Those young whippersnapper pups are a little too frisky for me, but cats don't bother me at all--I just walk on past them! But I LOVE people and get very excited when greeting them at the door. I'd rather not be around small children, they make me nervous and I would rather stay away from them. I am loyal to my owner, and though it might take me a while, I will bond with you and give you all of my heart once I'm sure I'm in my new forever home! I adore being brushed and groomed and having my tail fluffed up and my tummy rubbed! I am current on all my vaccinations, am heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on and flea and tick prevention. I am potty trained and I tell my foster mommy in a low mumble when I need to go out! I enjoy going for long car rides in a nice air-conditioned car. I love to sleep with you and be a real cuddle bunny! I think I am quite the handsome dude because I'm ALWAYS strutting my stuff!!! :o) I am SO PROUD of my tail and like to show it off when I walk (you might even say I prance)!!! My hair is very thick, white and fuffy, and my eyes are a warm brown and very beautiful to look into. If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I am in Rockford, IL with my foster mommy, Marci! If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Deborah at: deborah@eskierescuers.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Sam I Am!
