**** I am located in Maryland *****

Howdy, my name is Cisco Kid, but I answer to "Nikky." I'm a miniature-sized American Eskimo male around 4 years old, and I weigh about 18 pounds. As you might be able to tell by my pictures, I'm a "high energy" guy! I was adopted out through ERU prevously. However dont think because I am back that I am bad. That is not the case at all. I would just do better as an only dog. I am fine with some dogs but if there is another dog in the home I am going to start marking. This was my home first so when you bring other dogs in, I need to mark things to show everyone that this is my home. When I was an only dog this was not a problem.

I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm leash-trained, and I walk very well on a leash and if I am is walked at a heel position. I do not pull. I'm crate-trained, and also have attended and completed, obedience class. So I know the basic commands. I love people. I also would be ok in a home with older children. My foster mommy thinks I would do best in a home as an only pet, and without small kids who might feel intimidated when I try to assert my dominance. I really need to be with a family that understands the Eskie breed and that can be firm (but kind) with me and make me understand that THEY are alpha in the house, not me.

I know that a tennis ball needs to come BACK to the person who threw it! That's right, I know how to play fetch! (I may not know what the word "fetch" means, but I do love the concept.) Ummm, one thing you should know... And I really like to run, so a home with a fenced-in yard would be just ideal for me. I'm a terrific little guy who needs an owner who will take the time to work and play with me and interact with me a lot. If you can help me channel my excess energy, I will pay you back with every ounce of love I have in my little body! I'm waiting so eagerly for my new forever family. Won't you hurry and fill out an application for me? I promise you won't regret it! If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact
justus4250@aol.com or gina@eskierescuers.org. You can also visit our website

and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process. I'm staying in Maryland until my new family comes along!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

Is Not Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
