Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Ritzie! I'm a 6-year old standard-sized American Eskimo girl who weighs about 25 pounds. (My foster mommy says I could stand to lose a little weight.) I'm very soft, with the tightest curled tail you've ever seen! Don't you think I'm just as sweet and adorable as can be? My friend and companion, Rocco, is also listed on this website-in fact, one of the pictures here is of the two of us together (I'm the one on the right). We can be adopted separately or together. I'm spayed, microchipped, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken and kennel trained, and I LOVE to ride in the car. I do pretty well on a leash and am getting better with that every day! It would be great if I were in a home with a fenced-in yard, because I like to run out the door looking for adventure-you know, there's a whole big world out there just waiting to be explored! I'm a sweet, calm girl who is a little skittish at first around people I don't know, but I warm up quickly. I get along well with kids, and we don't think cats would be a problem. I'm great with other dogs, and though I tend to be somewhat of a bossy "alpha girl," I haven't had any problems getting along with my foster mommy's other dogs. I love to play with my toys, but I especially like to cuddle up with you on the sofa and watch TV! I am waiting to find my new forever home-will that be with you? Do you have room for me in your home and your heart? I am very eager to please you and keep you company. If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm being fostered in South Carolina. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Ritzie!
Eskie Rescuers United
|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
