WHERE I'M BEING FOSTERED: Knoxville, TN

Hi, my name is Emily! Though I'm not a purebred Eskie (it looks like I may have some Golden Retriever in me), I sure am a pretty girl! I'm very friendly and lovable and will stay right by your side to keep you company. (I like to lie at your feet and lick your legs! HeeHee!)

I love going outside to play, because I enjoy running and jumping (and I can jump very high too!). I'm good at riding in the car, but I still need work on not jumping out. In fact, I will need to be taken to obedience classes by my new owners so I can become your perfect little girl. I already know "down" and "sit," and I also know "come"--at least when I'm in the house. Outdoors, I develop that "selective hearing" problem you've probably heard about. ;o) My foster mommy is working very hard with me on my manners, but those lessons will have to be reinforced by my new family.

Because I'm just a youngster, I'm still going through that chewing stage, and there sure are lots of tasty things to sample (including the inside liners of your shoes)! So you'll need to keep an eye on me and not leave things you value lying about. But I'd never want you to be mad at me, so you'll need to be sure to teach me what's acceptable to chew on and what's not. I'm a smart girl, so I'm sure I can learn quickly enough.

I'm very sweet, affectionate and lovable. You'll know I'm happy when I throw my lips back and flash my big ol' smile at you! But I do get depressed when I'm left alone for more than an hour, so if my forever home had a stay-at-home mom or dad (or both), I'd be in 7th heaven! I'll snuggle with you and show you how glad I am that you decided to make me part of your family. Won't you hurry and fill out an adoption application for me? I'm waiting as patiently as I can for you to find me!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Allen at: allen@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy Vicki directly at: hrdwrkpyz@comcast.net. You can also go to our web site by clicking here to fill out an adoption application for me.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you).

There is a $150 adoption fee for me, and please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Emily
