About Patti!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-189
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Patti! I'm a 1- to 2-year old miniature-sized American Eskimo female who stands about 15 inches tall and weighs 18 pounds. Don't you think I'm a cute little girl?

I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. (I have bad flea allergies, so it's important that I stay on my flea prevention medication.) I'm housebroken and leash-trained, and I ride well in the car. I have never been crate-trained, but that's not really necessary for me, as I have good indoor manners (I don't even need obedience training). :o)

I get along well with cats and other dogs. I'm neither an alpha nor an omega dog (I'm basically a middle-of-the-pack kind of dog who neither wants to lead nor follow). On the one hand, I can be submissive if another dog around me is more dominant, and on the other hand I will chase away the other dogs who want to play with my stuffed toys, because I want the toys all for myself--I just love playing with them! HeHe! I'm very playful and enjoy being outside romping with the other dogs. Once in a while (though not often) I might bolt out the door when it's opened, so you have to watch for me when you come in or out of the house.

I'm also good with people, including strangers, but it would be better if my new home didn't have young children (especially babies). In all other aspects I'm a real sweetheart! I'm a very affectionate "lap baby" who will sit on your lap for hours, until you can no longer feel your legs! I love the chicken breast my foster mommy feeds me, and I'll go to the ends of the earth for a hot dog! YUM! YUM! I do have to admit, however, that I don't like loud noises. I would do great in an apartment since I am a smaller dog, and I don't really have huge exercise requirements (though if you decide to take me to the doggy park, I'm sure I would have a blast!).

My foster mommy says someone is going to scoop me up very quickly-will that someone be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your life so I can show you how sweet I really am? I can't wait to be in my new forever home so I can be spoiled like a little princess!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: krissy_690@yahoo.com. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me.

There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Knoxville, TN with my foster mommy, Krissy.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Patti!
