T is for a TOTALLY wonderful dog
O is for number ONE
B is for the BEST of the BEST
Y is for YET to have a forever home
Hi, my name is TOBY! (Bet you would have never guessed, huh?) I'm a standard-sized American Eskimo male, about 18 months to 2 years old, and weighing 30 pounds. I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick medication. I'm also housebroken and crate-trained. Now on to the more important stuff....
I love to play and play and play! I play ball; I play tug of war; I really love to play with stuffed squeaky toys! But BESTEST of all, I love to play with people! I'm such a good boy! I've never met a stranger...I'm friendly with everyone. I jump for joy just being around someone I love! I strive to make MY people happy! I want them to approve of me and give me lots of praise! When I hear "Good boy, TOBY!" I wiggle all over and jump up and down! Wow! Life is great! I probably wouldn't do well with small children though, because I would love them too much and might knock them down. I wouldn't understand how not to show so much enthusiasm!
I play great with other dogs and never try to be alpha. I'm not food-protective, but I ABSOLUTELY love treats! I have to admit to one bad habit, however...I love garbage--the stinkier the better! MMMMMM! I'll have to work on that issue! Hehehe! I'm not a barker or yapper. I'll do a warning bark if someone comes to the door or is in the yard, but other than that I'm really quiet! I do need some obedience classes because I'm so hyper. (I'm still just a pup, you know!) I don't walk on a leash very well, but I'm working on it! I just get so excited--you know, being outside in the fresh air with someone I love! I think I would get along with cats all right...it might take a smack or two on the nose from one of them, but I don't think I would hurt them.
My foster mom says I give some great Eskie kisses, but even more so, I am the best Eskie hugger she has ever seen! Have you ever had an Eskie hug? If not, you don't know what you're missing! My foster mom says an Eskie hug is just about the greatest thing since sliced bread! WOW! WIGGLE!
Now all I need is a forever family to make my life complete! I would love to snuggle with you and give you a big sloppy Eskie kiss, followed by the greatest Eskie hug! Come on, let's make each other's lives complete...just fill out an adoption application and ask for TOBY!
If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: jane@eskierescuersunited.org. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me.
There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Jefferson City, TN with my foster mommy, Jane.
To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
Hugs and kisses!
Toby!
