Hi, my name is Winter! I'm a 2-year old American Eskimo male who weighs 23 pounds. I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm also housebroken. And you can tell from my picture that I'm a VERY handsome boy! It would be best if I were in a home without small children and where I am the only pet, because I want to give you all my love and affection exclusively! :o) I don't like to be left outside alone, and will start barking to remind you that I'm out here and want to be with you instead! (But I will be quiet if you talk to me for a while and assure me that you love me!) I may be a bit slow in warming up to new people. My foster mommy thinks I may have been beaten in my previous life (probably by a man), so I need time and a little patience from you so I can learn to trust you and know that you won't hurt me. All I really want are your unconditional love and attention, and I will give those back to you many times over! If you go out for awhile, I get VERY excited and will want to jump all over you when you return home, because I'm SO happy to see you again! If you have company over, I like to try and get out, to check out these new people, but I do know the "stay" command and am pretty good at obeying. I like to go for car rides, and I walk pretty well on a leash, though I might pull at first. (But be sure my collar is snug around my neck, or I will slip right out of it--just call me Houdini!) I'm VERY lovable and affectionate, but I do like to be left alone when I'm eating or chewing on my treats. I will sit very patiently and wait for you to give me a treat (I will never try to grab it out of your hand), but once you give me my food or treat, I might growl at you if I think you're trying to take it away from me. I just love my stuffed animals, and will even try to steal those that belong to my foster brothers and sisters if I think I can get away with it! HeeHee! And if you're a country music fan, then I'm the dog for you, because I just LOVE country music! :o) Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? I know I?m waiting for my new forever family?will that be you? If you?re interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I?m not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Mount Vernon, WA with my foster mommy, Fay. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Merinda at: Merinda@eskierescuersunited.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Winter!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
