Coco is a delightful, easy going, barely a senior dog. His age was estimated at 8 by the SPCA, but we're thinking maybe 10. His elderly male owner died, and he came in with another older dog, so he loves being with other friendly dogs. He definitely is a well behaved lap dog, who just loves your company, and is friendly to all he meets. So I'm betting he was loved very much. He adores a long brisk walk, 1 1/2-2 miles, morning and evening, and never happy when we turn back as there is so much to explore. He's very efficient at nagging for his walks, and gets adorably vocal about it, so he's a great exercise partner. He has so very much to explore, and is hoping to be adopted by someone who loves walking as much as he does. He had been neglected for quite some time as he lost alot of his hair on his butt due to a severe flea infestation. He is now all healed, and enjoying all the care and attention he is now getting. He is so adorable and he adapts so quickly, just wanting to finally have a happy home where he will be really cared for and never neglected again! You can tell he enjoys being with his family. He must be adopted by someone who loves for him to sleep with them! He doesn't take up much room, and he doesn't move all night. It really upsets him to be left behind at bedtime, and it's not fair to try and change him now.  He loves to follow you, and be your constant companion. And I must warn you that he is a bit of a beard nibbler and quite the kisser! He also loves to drag out as many of the toys that he can find. He is so excited when you get his leash, and is ready for a brisk walk or a ride. He just wants to do something together! He is a wonderful little angel. I think he would do great with older folks, as he is laid back except for walking time of course! But he does like children, so I believe he would be happy sharing his space with easy going children too. But don't forget that seniors who adopt seniors, are the most special people, and deserve and get a great deal for a best friend that needs you, and will love you forever for picking them. For more info contact foster mom Kathy at katana653@aol.com

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
