Hi! My name is Kiley. I am about 1.5 years young. I am new to ERU, but my foster family have had me for a few months. They wanted to work with me and get to really know me first. I was found running the streets and brought to the shelter. They thought I might've runaway from my family, but no one came forward and the shelter had no luck finding them either. My foster mommy got a call from the shelter telling her that I was here and that they were over-crowed and to see if she could take me. My foster mommy came to see me on her lunch break. She opened up my cage door and I slowly came out very scared and shy. She scooped me up in her arms and promised me that things would be different and that I would know what it's like to be part of a family. I would be able to have fun, to be free, live life, to be cared for to be loved and safe. She explained to me at home, I would have lots of siblings and a Daddy. I went home to meet everyone, but I was scared and kinda hid. Everyone was so nice to me. I was getting so much attention and love. I was welcomed with a nice cage, with lots of food and treats, lots of toys, a warm bed and a wonderful family. I settled in after a couple of days and started to learn to be a family dog. I love my foster family very much and know that they cannot keep me and what's best for me is to find my own family. I would really like to be able to keep in contact with my foster family. They were my first real true family, but I am looking forward to finding my furever family. Now it's time for them to say a little bit about me. Kiley has been just a pure joy and lovebug to have around. When we picked her up at the shelter we knew she was a stray and that strays tend to be pot luck. A stray she was, abandoned....probably, abused.....possibly, had a rough start to what should've been a wonderful life......yes, but will never know any of that again. Kiley gets leery around vehicles, not sure if she's had a bad experience at one time, but once you pick her up and put her in, she's ready to hit the open road. We feel that she was abused, abandoned and/or neglected, but through it all she is a very sweet, loving, affectionate and an all around great family member. When you leave the room, she'll cry until you get back, that's why we think she was abandoned. Abused, possibly just by the way she runs and hides for certain things. Neglected, because we found out that she never experienced lots of things that she should have. Especially with her being a young dog. Kiley has grown so much and has accomplishe many new things. We are so proud of her and know that she will make her furever family just as happy and proud as she has made us. She know loves to play with toys, loves to sleep in bed with you, loves to give kisses, likes to lay on a doggie bed, loves to run around outside, sit on a swing and to be around everyone. She also know SIT, COME and does STAY most of the time and takes food ever so gently. Most of these things she didn't ever know about until we introduced them to her. We don't have a cat, but took her to my parent's house and she did fine with the cat. we also have 4 other dogs and she does fine with them too. Sometimes she can play a little rough, but has never hurt any of them.
