Frosty came to us from North Carolina, where he lived with an older couple. He lost his family because his daddy, to whom he was very bonded, passed away. 

No kids? No dogs? Want an instant food vacuum cleaner? Watch a lot of TV? Then boy do I have the PERFECT dog for you! Frosty the quiet TV buddy, will keep you company day and night. He’ll only make noise when he’s hungry, or needs to go outside to potty.  He’s gorgeous, loving, very protective, and he loves apples!

He is a very sweet laid back boy who loves the quiet life even though he is only 6 years old. He likes to be in the same room with you and will follow you around, room to room. He is a great companion dog & will keep you company while you watch TV, cook, work, etc. In fact, he would love to keep you company on car rides too. He loves the car and rides very well. Although he enjoys short walks and walks nicely on a leash, his favorite activity is just relaxing in the same room with people.

Frosty is smart and polite. He does not climb on furniture. He is fully house-trained and will politely ask you to let him out to potty. He knows many commands (sit, down, stay, come, beg, speak, easy, give me 5, give me your belly and heel). We are working on some manners when food drops on the floor, and he is doing great. He is so smart and eager to learn that he can be taught just about anything!

Frosty would do best in a quiet adult home.  Although he tolerates my dogs, he prefers the company of adult humans. He needs calm leadership, sometimes needs to be reminded of his manners, and needs and enjoys ongoing hands-on training to be kept in line.  Frosty is a very present and needy dog  - he's great at asking for water, potty breaks, petting - and requires a committed owner with the time and patience to give Frosty what he needs.  Although he is not a lap dog & doesn’t enjoy being picked up or hugged, he really wants to be in the company of humans, preferably one that gives a lot of head scratches and apples

Please note that if you are interested in adopting Frosty, it will be necessary for you to arrange with the foster to meet him in person prior to adoption.  Frosty will not be shipped out of state nor shipped to an in-state adopter without a prior meet and greet.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
