Gia is a 3-5 year American Eskimo mix looking for a family to call her own. She gets along well with other dogs, and tolerates cats. She is house and crate trained. She looks like an Eskimo dog, as far as her color and coat type, but is low to the ground and long. She looks like she could have Corgi in her, due to her body type. She has cute stubby legs and big floppy ears, her fluffy coat is beautiful; so soft and shiny.
Her main priority in life is to be near her people. She is a shadow dog. You can always count on her to be right by your side. She's not annoying about it though. Laying down quietly at your feet is all she requires. Pets are of course, a bonus, she won't ever decline. She will joyfully bound around and do her happy dance when you return from being away. It is sure to put a smile on your face.
Gia came to Eskimo Rescuers from Greenville Animal Control in Greenville, SC in August of 2015. The circumstances of her arrival at the GACC is somewhat unclear. We were told two different stories, and Gia can't seem to clear it up for us, so, we'll just say that she got there somehow and was in some jeopardy. The shelter listed her as sick with CIRD, Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease (kennel cough). She had also tested positive for heartworms. Gia has been on slow kill method for heartworms, and has now tested negative for heartworms! Gia was also treated for a hernia, last fall.
