Oliver is a delightful boy who came to ERU via a shelter in South Carolina. After some recuperative time with his first foster mom in sunny Florida, where he gained some much needed weight, got lots of loving and had long overdue dental needs addressed, he has come north to continue his healing. He is house trained, fine with other dogs, and can fly like the wind around the backyard. We will never know for sure what happened to him, but life experience seems to have taught him that people are maybe not so safe, that collars and leashes are a thing to greatly fear, and vets are a source of dread. He is also heartworm positive and receiving the slow kill treatment. He also seems to have some hearing loss. He is learning that hugs and cuddles are a delightful thing, there will always be food, and working on his overwhelming fear of all things leash and collar related. We are hoping that with time, patience and positive training, he will heal in body and soul, and be adoptable. For now, he is doing well and would be ever so grateful for your sponsorship.
