![]() Your rescue name was Snowflake, but you were my Snowy.. white and fluffy like new fallen snow. You see a mile away and warn me of stranger danger car coming down our road. When you slept or napped.. I'd let you as a brand new baby being adored by her mother, but didnt like being disturbed, so you gave me a warning to stop my admiration of your beauty. You had more toys then a house full of children did and believed every crinkle of a bag included a new toy for you... and most always did. Your favorite food was Rotisserie chicken, rice and spagetti.. which was fixed just how you liked it.. so your nickname on Sundays was.. Spagetti Face... You always wanted to be where I was watching and absorbing my movements and tasks as you were sure they always were about you...your special meals, your nightly routine at bedtime.. with all your babies lined up like soldiers for inspection with lullaby ellie to put stars, music to your bedtime..and last but not least your bowl of cool milk to help you rest. Your kisses and brown marble eyes were magical to me, knowing your days were be counted and slipping away... our time together as family with your foster brothers and sisters treated you as one of the gang, as they knew what was coming as they surrounded you and never hurt you.. even Jet let you be boss sometimes. They were envious as we walked out the together one last time with your purple dragon in tow. . I talked you listened as we drove and reminded him of our beautiful time together and the sun shines on your face for the last time on this earth. Now your final kisses, hugs and leg rubs are with you to carry you to the only other hands I can entrust you with...Now the sun will always shine on you and the wind will catch your fluffy fur..till we meet again.. my angel. I love you my precious Snow..someone told me "" Every girl should have a white fluffy dog"... my how she was right... Thank you Laura Andriola, Cheryl, and Eskie United for saving him from MAS.. IT WAS MY HONOR TO BE HIS MOMMA. Thank you Gloria and Lou for his beautiful blanket that he was able to use a few days... after he sniffed it and decided he liked it. And to everyone who supports rescue efforts of any kind... You may not save the world.. but to that one dog.. it is his world. Love always.....Deborah Wolstenholme, February 26, 2019 ![]() We adopted Joey thru ERU eight years ago and Heidi brought him to our home. Last night my sweet Joey crossed the Rainbow Bridge one week after his 15th birthday. Needless to say, I am heartbroken about losing my good boy and devoted buddy... I just wanted you to know, and to thank you for letting us adopt each other. He was such a joy.........Susan Fanske, February 13, 2019 ![]() With a heavy heart I helped Bogie cross the bridge this morning. For the last week he had been limping on his right front paw. When I inspected his paw I noticed his nails were much longer on that paw than his left paw. I assumed that was causing his discomfort and made an appointment to get it looked at by the vet and have them trim his nails. When the vet did his exam he found a large mass in Bogies abdomen and noticed his inner eye lids and gums were white in color indicating a very low red blood cell count. The vet found Bogie had a tumor in his spleen. Bogie had anal gland cancer last year and it was removed, but his prognosis wasn't very good. I knew this day would come but didn't expect it to be today........Jim Schulz, February 2, 2019 ![]() RIP Snowball. We adopted Snowball at 6 yrs old, 12 years ago from Eskie Rescuers United. He became our family member on that day and has been a very sweet and happy dog. Truly one of the best. We will miss you, Snowball........Lance Wolak, January 3, 2019 ![]() Yesterday i was notified that one of my former fosters... Princess (aka Gretl of Hansl & Gretl) passed away on Dec 23... she hadnt been feeling well and the vet discovered she was filled w/ cancer... she was about 13 yrs old and loved to pieces. her brother, Ziggy (aka Hansl) is hanging in there... he's blind in one eye, mostly blind in the other, deaf and on daily meds for his arthritis... but his mom tells me he's the happiest boy... These two kiddos were picked up as puppies wandering around NE IN, and were pulled w/ another eskie and all 3 came to Rockford to be fostered and adopted out... that was in 2005, i think. im saddened to hear of my adopted furkids passing, but they've been living nice, long lives.........Deborah Guske, December 30, 2018 Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
