Peabody
Peabody came in to Eskie Rescuers after he was left at a house like old furniture when his first owner moved. Even after being abandoned by an owner he trusted, he never let it get him down. Peabody was a very friendly, happy, playful little eskie. He was always very friendly to everyone, whether you had two or four legs. He would get so excited when the leash came out, he would jump around in anticipation of a fun walk! Peabody was always very well-behaved and loved going outside to play. His family described him as having a kind soul and a very friendly personality. He was so happy to have found such a loving furever home and was truly grateful to have them. He enjoyed his furever home for the rest of his years and they enjoyed him just as much. This little sweetheart will be sorely missed by those who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Jingles
Jingles was found by the side of the road in Iowa by a vet who cleaned her up and called Eskie Rescuers to find her a home. Jingles was a senior, "special" needs Eskie. She was deaf and had neurological problems that could make life difficult for her at times. She also had thyroid problems which caused her to drink an excessive amount of water. Jingles also had a skin condition that was hard to explain but it covered a large section of her back near her tail and her neck. Jingles must have had a stroke or has severe Alzheimer’s because she does not have a concept of going outside to go to the potty. She was uninterested in human contact, in going outside, for walks or playing with toys, which could have been a result of her dementia. As you see Jingles needed lots of expensive medical attention but it was an important part of making her comfortable enough to live out her old age in a loving home. Despite her needs, Jingles still found lots of joy in her food and drink. You could see the joy in her face every time she ate. Much of her history was unknown and her medical problems unexplainable, but what we found out was that she was a sweet girl. Eskie Rescuers worked very hard to give her the best quality of life that is possible with her conditions. She is in a better place now, free from pain and that we are thankful for.

Prinze
Prinze came into ERU after his previous owner passed away. He was a very sweet, quiet and laidback fella who got along quite well with other dogs. He was never aggressive or alpha, and if another dog growled at him, he would just ignore him and walk away! He loved to be petted, and loved to follow his foster mommy all around the house. He loved to go outside for leisurely strolls and would get so excited when he saw the leash coming out! :o) He had some arthritis in his joints towards the end and would feel a bit stiff in the mornings. He was a sweet, loving and friendly to the end but his body just gave out.

Snowball of MN
Snowball was rescued from a backyard in Austin, TX after spending 9 months there abandoned by her owner. A neighbor fed her and eventually contacted ERU who had an angel swoop down from MN and whisk me away. She was HW positive and her teeth were in deteriorating health but otherwise she was very healthy and didn’t complain. She spent her last years in the cold tundra of Duluth, but the warmth of her foster Mom, Karen, and all the other wonderful people who looked after her made up for the cold. She was truly loved by those who were fortunate to have her in their lives these past 2 years. Trip Of GA
Trip was a sweet boy who had gone thru a lot of changes in his short life, but was a smart, active and very beautiful little boy. He always wanted to be right by my side and in my lap. Oh how he loved his biscuits and would run in a circle, then sit so quickly to get a treat. He would play for hours with my little Chihuahua mix and his energy sometimes astounded me. He sat in the window of my office and watched the world go by, protecting his home. He never minded sharing the window with the cats, particularly my young one, Lily, who loved to rub up against his soft fur. He deserved so much more than his short few years.
