About Nimbus of Columbia SC

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Current Size: 21 Pounds
  • Current Age: 16 Years 7 Months (best estimate)

Hi!  My name is Nimbus (like a fluffy cloud), although most of my friends call me Nimmy.  I'm a miniature eskimo and my healthy weight is about 21 pounds.  My teeth are very clean and I'm a fixed five year old boy who just wants to go to a good permanent home.  My mommy, who got me when I was a tiny puppy and half the size of my brothers, has re-developed a severe dog allergy she had during her childhood and it's causing her to be chronically ill.  I am a wonderful, clever and loyal puppy and I just want a happy owner who can pay attention to me.

I'm often scared of new people but warm up pretty quickly.  I love to play, I will hop into any nearby pond (or even a birdbath if you let me) to play in water.  I like to play with other dogs and I get along well with cats (I was raised with a senior cat and loved some stray kittens my parents rehomed).  I like children and love to play with older kids.  I've never had any issues with younger children or toddlers but if I don't get a lot of exercise I might jump up excitedly and no one has ever tried to take food away from me so I don't know if I would be okay with that or not.

I know lots of tricks, like dance, jump, speak, sit, stay, give me paw, bang (playing dead when you shoot with a finger).  I haven't gotten enough exercise or attention in awhile so I'm slightly overweight and have too much energy.  I haven't even gone on a walk in ages and my mommy knows it's unfair for my life to continue this way.  Because I haven't gotten enough attention, I bark and cry more than usual.  I'm positive this will go away when I'm somewhere I can get exercise.  I can't even run around in the back yard because it's very hot and I've had animal control called on me for the next door neighbor's dog, which barks at me a lot (I like to watch silently or run back and forth next to the fence, but I'm not the barker).

I get nervous when people I don't know come in the house and I bark but I stop really quickly if my owners calm me down.  This is also worse if I don't get enough exercise.  I was the light of life for my owners and their two toddlers (their daughter's first words were 'puppy' and 'nim-nim').  Please help me, I need to go to a safe home where someone will have time for me and where I won't have to stay away from the person I love best.  I get hardly any attention right now and it's breaking everyone's heart including mine.  I'm a very good and eager to please boy and I just want someone to cuddle with again.  My mommy lives in South Carolina but will drive as far as she can to find me the right home.
