Hi, Max here!

What a scary and confusing month I've had.  My daddy went into hospice and through no fault of my own, I ended up in the county shelter.  Wow, I was a nervous wreck in there - it was so noisy and all the other dogs were so big and loud and aggressive.  I just shook like a leaf in a windstorm, from fear of what was going on and wondering was going to happen to me.  I'm a little senior guy, and I knew my odds weren't very good, the longer I stayed in that scary place.

Whew, I got out!  I was one of the lucky ones, I know.  I had lots friends that wanted to leave with me - like 300 plus ticks - UGH!!  My foster saviors have been so wonderful to me.  They have given me lots of baths to get rid of the ticks and picked off hundreds of them, and clipped my mated fur - so now I am soft and clean and white and fluffy again.  It feels SOOOO good.  I came out sick, too - but my wonderful fosters took me to the vet and got me some medicine, so I am finally better and starting to feel really good.  And happy.  They told me I just need a dental in a few weeks, and then I will be in tip top shape!

I am a friendly, healthy, loving boy.  I seek out attention and really crave any kind of love and affection.  My foster mommy laughs at me and calls me an "adorable sneaky little cuddler" because I like to dive into her arms for hugs  I really love my people and want to be with them, and like a true Eskie, protect them too.  I get along with other dogs, but maybe just one, as I would prefer not to have to share too much.

I've never had too many walks before, so at first I was a little confused about them.  But now that I've got them figured out, I really like them, and the more of these I get every day, the better!  I do LOVE my foster mommy's cooking - it's so good - and I have to admidt I am a little bit of a foodie and want to eat everything she makes.  Sometimes she gives me little tastes on top of my kibble......YUM!!

I am a real heart-stealer, that's for sure.....how can you resist my huge Eskie smile?  But given all the recent changes in my life, it is super important I go to a forever home that will provide stability, consistency, and affection.

I am being fostered in Miami, FL with Eskie Rescuers.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete and adoption application at www.eskierescuers.org.  If you have any questions, please email dyan@eskierescuers.org.

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
