Sweet Callie was adopted by the parents of a wonderful ERU foster. She left Florida behind and spent her final years enjoying a good and very loving life in New Hampshire. Thank you to our wonderful foster failures and foster failure parents......March 20, 2019 Carl had his best day ever this morning. He ran, he barked, he laughed, he wagged his little shrimp tail at his best friend Rainee and his favorite kitty Butter. He ate his yummy favorite pre-breakfast snack and then breakfast. He had his favorite treats. He spent his time with what he never had before, his mommy and daddy and his big pack, knowing he was and always will be forever home. It was a great last day. A tumor on Carl's spleen ruptured this afternoon and he passed away quietly, painlessly and humanely in his mommy and daddy's arms at 3:03pm. We love you, Carl. Run free and wild with the angels. RIP Carl Barker.......August 24, 2016 This terrified little girl was rescued on her last days at an Ohio pound. She was blind, was heartworm positive, and looked and acted far beyond her estimated 7 years. She probably had never seen the inside of a house nor had a bath as the burrs were embedded in her skin. She looked like a back-yard breeders project that was just tossed out. Due to CeCe's condition, it was determined that she was too fragile to survive the traditional heartworm treatment. Plans were made to transport her to another foster who had a sanctuary for unadoptable dogs in an area that could see some harsh winter weather. It was a 2-day drive but the transport volunteers filled the request quickly. CeCe made it to her new forever home but died shortly after arriving. Heartworms had claimed another life. But in her final days, CeCe probably received more love and attention from all the rescuers that helped her than she did in her whole life. by Karon Stewart, ERU How do I tell you, where do I start? These feelings inside me, deep in my heart. I thought I had lost love, then you came along; Everything was better...nothing could go wrong. The feelings of tenderness I hadn't known before; You wanted to keep me, but God wanted me more. I look to your eyes, the ones that are kind To tell you it's okay, I know it's my time. For with your love, I was so blessed; So celebrate my life, don't dwell upon my death. Until we meet at the Bridge -- Oh, please don't cry. It's just for now, my friend, that I must say goodbye. FOR THESE RESCUES, THEIR MEMORY WILL LIVE ON A great Joy in mine and Bob's life is our doggos. We love them so much... Today is a tough day as we had to say so long to our dear Charlie. A sweet gentle furry one who had so much love. Huge part of our family and heart, we love him dearly. We rescued Charlie in 2008, he was around 4 years old, maybe older, we don't know for sure, so that makes him 17-ish. We made sure he had the best loving life ever. He will be missed tremendously. ……..Edie and Bob Menzel, November 1, 2021 Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
